It was the new technique and technologie that made:
- half-grain methods for erucic reduction
- the gas chromatograph for glucosinolate analysis,
- the NIRS device for non-destructive oil and protein analysis,
- the haploid technique for cell cultures from Poland,
- the hybrid systems MSL and OGURA the marker technology for parentage determination and gene mapping,
- automated sensors and drone recordings for the genomic selection of the future, supported by AI passage, have created success. And will continue to do so.
The entrepreneurial visions, the sometimes hopeless breeding optimism and the almost childlike joy of creating a new protein animal feed or producing a health - promoting cooking oil and being a pioneer of sustainability with biodiesel were simply a no-brainer. At the same time, RAPOOL breeding succeeded in increasing the profitability of agriculture and improving soil fertility. Unexpected events were also formative in order to stay "on the carpet", e.g. the production of hybrid seeds had to be learned first, as well as the new safety standards for absolutely GMO-free seeds.
The particular success of RAPOOL probably consists of all for individual aspects and the ability to anticipate changes in agricultur and politics over decades. The personal dialog with practitioners and advisors has challenged and promoted RAPOOL breeding.
