Based on a sowing of 2,5 - 3 kg / ha between mid of August & beginning of September, rapeseed grows quickly and forms an impressive biomass between 10 - 20 t / ha. Additionally, well-developed plants can take up more than 100 kg N/ha and therefore prevent unneccessary nitrogen losses.
Rapeseed as a strong pre-crop increase the yield potential of winter wheat with 800 kg, respectively 10 % additional yield. That corresponds to 941 breads per hectare, which supply 10 people for one year.
A yellow flowering rapeseed field offers 36 kg/ha pollen and 144 kg/ha nectar for our honeybees, which produce 100 kg/ha outstanding Rapeseed honey. This is enough honey to supply 88 people for one year.
The domestic rapeseed production support the GMO-free protein supply in Europe. Based on 1 hectare rapeseed 3 cows can be fed for 1 year, which deliver up to 24.000 liter of milk. This is enough milk to supply 461 people for one year.
An average rapeseed production of 3.500 kg/ha deliver 1.600 l valuable rapeseed oil and 2.300 kg high quality rapeseed meal, which is an additionally GMO free protein feed.
